In 1904, the Norwegian capital was hit by a major earthquake. The disaster led to destruction in the city, but not a single person was injured. Geological surveys currently show that weak tremors occur almost weekly in Oslo. They can serve as harbingers of an even stronger earthquake, which threatens to recur a hundred years later, only with increased strength. Norwegian geologist Kristian Eikjord, who survived the tsunami three years ago, again is trying to save his family.
