Rick and Morty: The Anime is an adult animated science fiction sitcom series created and developed by Takashi Sano. Set between the fifth and sixth seasons of the main Rick and Morty series, it revolves around the adventures of alternate universe versions of the Smith household members. The show features different versions of the characters, including mad scientist Rick Sanchez, his grandchildren Morty and Summer Smith, and their parents, Jerry and Beth Smith. Morty meets a “time warrior” named Elle, and a parallel storyline explores the final months in the life of Jerry Prime. The characters inhabit various dimensions, with their personal characteristics varying from one reality to another.
