Harriet Manners is a socially awkward teenager who’s more into facts and figures than fashion and popularity. Her life takes a surprising turn when she’s accidentally discovered by a modeling agency during a school trip. Suddenly, she’s thrust into the glamorous, cutthroat world of high fashion, a place completely at odds with her geeky personality. Throughout Season 1, Harriet grapples with the demands of her new modeling career while trying to navigate the treacherous waters of high school. She faces the pressure of maintaining her grades, keeping up with homework, and staying true to herself, all while learning the ins and outs of the fashion industry. Her best friend, Nat, and her new model friend, Wilbur, provide both support and comedic relief as Harriet fumbles her way through photo shoots, fashion shows, and the ever-present social minefield of being a teenager. The season delves into her internal conflict, highlighting her desire to fit in while staying authentic to who she is. As Harriet gains confidence on the runway, she starts to understand that being a “geek” isn’t something to be ashamed of. Rather, it’s part of what makes her unique.
