“Chief of War” (season 1) is a historical drama set in late 18th-century Hawai‘i, centering on Ka‘iana, a warrior from Kaua‘i who becomes entangled in the violent quest to unify the fractured Polynesian islands. Disillusioned, Ka‘iana travels beyond the Pacific to encounter foreign ideologies and technologies that shift his understanding of power and governance. As he returns to the islands, he brings with him radical ideas and a renewed purpose, determined to challenge tradition and forge a new vision for Hawai‘i’s future. The series unfolds across several episodes, blending political intrigue, cultural identity, and personal rebellion with rich historical textures and emotional depth. “Chief of War” (season 1) charts the transformation of a warrior into a revolutionary, spotlighting the human cost of legacy and the fight to reshape destiny.
