“Unchosen” (season 1) — centers on Rosie, a devoted wife and mother living inside the Fellowship of the Divine, an isolated Christian community that promises salvation through obedience while controlling nearly every part of its members’ lives. Her husband Adam is desperate to prove himself worthy of becoming an elder, and their young daughter Grace is raised to fear the outside world as a place of corruption and unbelievers. When Grace disappears during a violent storm, Rosie defies orders and searches the forest, where she encounters Sam, a mysterious outsider who has saved the girl from drowning. Grateful and intrigued, Rosie secretly shelters him, unaware that he is an escaped convict whose past may be far more dangerous than he admits. Their forbidden connection awakens desires and doubts Rosie has spent years suppressing, while Adam’s ambitions, the authority of the intimidating Mr. Phillips, and the community’s severe punishments make every act of rebellion increasingly risky. Rosie’s effort to help Adam’s brother Isaac escape confinement further exposes the cruelty hidden beneath the Fellowship’s language of faith, family, and divine purpose. As secrets spread through the commune and Sam’s presence draws suspicion, Rosie must decide whether he offers a path to freedom or merely another form of control. “Unchosen” (season 1) becomes a tense psychological thriller about religious coercion, sexual awakening, abusive power, and a woman beginning to question the life chosen for her before she learned she could choose for herself.
