The movie “Berlin Syndrome” is based on the self-titled debut novel by Melanie Justine, published in 2011. For the Australian photojournalist Claire relationships are fastened very quickly – a romantic story: a meeting, an exchange of views and a couple of phrases, and that’s quite understandable completion of the evening. Claire wakes up the next morning and realizes that Andy, local young man she met yesterday, went to work, leaving her locked in her living space. It seemed, absurd omission. Except that he is not going to let her go.
