A fashion photographer from New York, in the movie “Disobedience” learns that her father, an orthodox Jew and a rabbi of the London community, has died. She returns to London, where she is met with a cold alienation and feels alien in the Jewish community, where everyone lives according to strict religious dogmas. The only person who was pleased with the return of Ronit is her childhood friend Esti. Between Ronit and Esti appeared an intimacy that goes beyond friendship, and this causes a real storm of indignation within the community.
