The plot of the series “Major Crimes” unfolds in one of the US states. There is a planned change of leadership of one police department and instead of an experienced chief, comes too young and extravagant boss. And a lot of problems and misunderstandings on the part of co-workers come to her. However, soon even the most obstinate employees took the appointment for granted and remembered that their primary task was to fight for law and order, and only then to settle service relations. All the employees worked flawlessly under the guidance of the new boss, and more and more new disclosures allowed the main heroine to prove that her appointment was not accidental and she became a real head of the operational unit capable of revealing the most intricate crimes.

American comedy movie “Going in Style”, where the main characters are retired and live in a small apartment in New York for social benefits. Their life is boring and dull, and the only entertainment is sitting on a bench in the park or at the TV. But unexpectedly for them the pension has decreased, and the main characters decide to commit a bank robbery and regain what is rightfully theirs. They come up with a plan, but first they decide to practice at a local supermarket.

The movie “Maigret in Montmartre” – a classic detective story by Georges Simenon. Commissioner Maigret again had to deal with the intricate crime and, having excluded from the field of view all the facts that did not relate to the given case, to find the real criminal. In the movie there are many characters and scenes, which often lead the viewer on a false track, because all the suspects had their own motives for committing a crime. The investigation is conducted slowly, the commissioner scrupulously and meticulously collects facts, compares them, searches for the missing elements. The method of Commissioner Maigret worked in this investigation and helped to avoid mistakes.

The main character of the American detective thriller “The Foreigner” Quan Ming is a veteran of the Vietnamese war. After serving time in jail, he goes to freedom and decides to flee with his family to Hong Kong. On the way, they get to Thai pirates who kill his older daughters. After this tragedy, the protagonist goes to London, opens a Chinese restaurant and tries to start a new life. But in the terrorist act his daughter dies and, and relying on her military experience, he decides to independently find those involved in the terrorist act.
