Events of the movie mostly are developed in Manhattan in the beginning of the 1980s when the crime rate was recorded. The main character — the immigrant from Latin America who arrived to the USA with ambitious dreams and soon achieved great success in business. But the street crime which captured New York, corruption and moral decay create for him and his family big problems.
The young woman is living in the Australian town and she is a thread which connects three different lines — story of murder, story of blackmail and story of revenge.
The main character of the movie is Ray Katter, a super-talented artist and the swindler in the second generation. He agrees about an early release from imprisonment “to retire” and improve the relations with a family. In an exchange for the help with an exit from prison he has to complete one more job, make a fake which nobody never did.
