The plot of the movie “The Greatest Showman” serves exclusively for edging the songs and to look for some deep meaning in it. Writers do not stay on the complexities or conflicts – they only give an excuse for the next song, and the choreography does the rest. Almost every significant event in the life of heroes is arranged loudly, pathetically and with music. This is so classical musical that it is not necessary to wait for it from the drama – all conflicts are resolved, all villains will retreat, but the main characters will know themselves and their way in life. Trying to live on a minimum wage, the main character – Phineas Taylor Barnum dreams of more and when he is cut from the accountant’s work, he sees in this a chance to open his business, which becomes a museum of unusual things. However, the museum is not popular and Phineas has to revise the concept of the museum in favor of the show with the participation of people with various deviations. The tallest and the lowest man, the thickest and most hairy, bearded woman and Siamese twins – all find shelter under the roof of the “Circus of Barnum” and to Phineas at last comes success. (more…)

The series “Waco” will tell about a siege belonging to members of one religious sect ranch 14 km from the city of Waco in Texas by the FBI and the National Guard of the United States, lasted from February 28 to April 19, 1993. During these events, 82 members of the sect died, including more than 20 children and 4 agents of the ATF Bureau. Residents of Mount Carmel were suspected of violating arms legislation. During the raid on the ranch, a shooting broke out, in which 10 people were killed. The FBI initiated a siege, which lasted 51 days and ended with an assault using armored vehicles and helicopters. During the assault in the estate a fire began, the reasons for the occurrence of which there are different versions. According to the results of the government investigation, the reason was arson.

The action-packed television series “Strike Back” is based on the novel by the British writer Chris Ryan of the same name. The plot dates back to 2003, on the eve of the invasion of Allied forces in Iraq. A special unit led by British special forces sergeant John Porter is sent to the hotspot for a special operation to rescue the hostages. In the course of its conduct, Porter falls into a rather complicated situation, and the decision he adopted leads to the death of two members of the detachment, as a result of which the sergeant is dismissed from the army. Pursued by a sense of guilt, John sinks into a deep depression, and his life begins to gradually collapse. Seven years later, the ward of Porter, Hugh Collinson, with whom they participated in that very failed operation, became the head of one of the MI6 reconnaissance divisions. Collinson goes to his former commander, and invites him to take part in a special operation that will give Porter an opportunity to return to Iraq, and thus atone for his guilt.

Suburbicon is a small one-story town in America. The action of the movie “Suburbicon” takes place in the 60s of the last century. Suburbicon is a wonderful summer town where nice people live, and in which nothing ever happens. It is about two families, completely different, united only by the friendship of children. In this nice little town, an African-American family dared to settle, than the local residents were very unhappy. The intolerance of society as a whole, the willingness to poison someone because of the color of skin, is combined with internal rot, which begins to emerge from those who at first sight are quite decent. The plot of the movie “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” unfolds in the American south, in Missouri. Police officers in the small town of Ebbing, southerners of both origin and conviction, led by sheriff William Willoughby, instead of investigating real crimes, are engaged in bringing personal scores to residents who for some reasons do not fit in their perception of life on racial or any other grounds.
