The Returned opens in a small mountain community which is rocked to its core when several local people who are presumed dead suddenly re-appear at their homes. Ephraim Goodweather is epidemiologist, who at the beginning of the show gets a very strange call. In the specific case of Stephen King none of his adaptations were not unanimously accepted by the audience, including the audience, who never read his books.
