In the center of the plot – a pair of Soviet spies trained and infiltrated by KGB under the guise of a respectable couple in a suburb of Washington. His skills and abilities were quickly approved in this organization. Elizabeth Jennings (Keri Russell) – the most ordinary girl, like lots of in her hometown. However, the KGB recruited her, quickly approved her talent to work in a team. Circumstances lead her to the same department of the KGB that Philip a little earlier.
The plot of the film features Los Angeles of the late 1960ies. The main character, Larry Sportello is a private detective and is addicted to marijuana. His ex-girlfriend wants him but soon the woman disappears together with her new rich partner. Larry takes up the case to investigate the whole affair.
