The series takes place in 1969 in the small port town of Stavanger in Norway. International oil companies have long been looking for oil fields in these parts of the world, but they can’t find anything and are ready to leave this venture. Stavanger lives by fishing, which is becoming smaller in the waters of the North Sea, the city is gradually plunging into crisis. Everything changes the night before Christmas 1969 when Phillips Petroleum discovers the largest oil basin in history.
