The main heroine of the movie “Patti Cake$” – a young girl Patricia Dombrowski from the most ordinary family in the city of New Jersey. Patricia has her own dream – to become a famous rapper. She chose not the most successful style of music for her career – after all, everyone knows that rap is basically a man’s element. Patricia is going through too difficult times. She tries to cope with the failures of her own mother, who every day complicates the life of her daughter. Misfortunes just chase the family. In their little family there is a single kind person and a soul mate who sincerely believes in Patricia’s success is her beloved grandmother.
