Sherwood Season 2 continues to explore the complex social and political themes introduced in the first season. Set in the present day, the series returns to the Nottinghamshire town of Ashfield, still scarred by the divisions caused by the 1980s miners’ strike. This season introduces two new families who become entangled with the Sparrows, leading to a web of local gangs, old rivalries, revenge, and betrayal. The series also features a newly appointed Sheriff of Nottingham, who is fighting against a proposed new mine that promises jobs but also brings back painful memories for the community.
