The action of the series “The Handmaid’s Tale ” is developed in the future, in the republic Gilead where militaryare in power. In the country there are cruel orders and customs, and only officers and their wives are held in respect. Besides a totalitarian society organization, in the world of the future there is a serious problem — sterility. Only every 100-th woman is capable to procreation of posterity. To continue an officer family, they choose among simple girls one who will bear their future child. Young girls live in the special protected rooms which are most of all remind prison and know that right after birth they should leave the children.
