The movie “The Mercy” is based on real events that occurred in 1968, when one amateur yachtsman arranged an incredible adventure from the round-the-world race of the Sunday Times newspaper. The businessman and entrepreneur Donald Crowhurst as a hobby is fond of yachts, regattas and related sports. And when he is threatened with bankruptcy, he decides to win the main prize in a round-the-world race organized by one big newspaper. He decides on a desperate cunning in order to benefit from even such a difficult situation.
