“Then You Run” (Season 1) is a British-German thriller and dark comedy television series based on the novel You by Zoran Drvenkar. The story follows four London high school friends—Tara, “Stink,” Ruth, and Nessi—who embark on a summer holiday that quickly turns into a dangerous adventure. After Tara’s grandmother dies, she decides to visit her estranged father, Orin, in Rotterdam. However, she soon discovers that he is involved in drug dealing for his older brother, Reagan. When Tara accidentally kills Orin after consuming high-grade heroin, her friends arrive to find her drugged and Orin’s frozen corpse. “Stink” steals a cache of heroin, hoping to sell it, but their actions set off a chain of events that forces them to flee across Europe. Reagan, a ruthless gangster, sends his son Darian to track them down while also dealing with rival drug boss Dagmar. As the girls travel from Rotterdam to Hamburg and then to Norway, they encounter unexpected allies and betrayals, all while trying to escape Reagan’s relentless pursuit.
