Dave lives quietly in his usual home, but works in an unusual area: he is a conflict resolution specialist. The character has a stunningly suspended language, and knowledge of diplomatic communication and the psychology of people allow him to take the maximum benefit out of any audience. True, he will not have long to live in the Midwest, because soon his family will move to Los Angeles, where he will have to get used to new people, new circumstances and new problems. The search for a new place of work begins, as well as relations with newly-minted neighbors who turn out to be very unusual people and are not amenable to the tricks of an experienced conflictologist.
