The eighth season of one of the most exciting, touching and multifaceted projects of British television “Call the midwife” was shot on the works of Jennifer Wharf. The writer has released a unique series of bestsellers, based on the real stories of Jennifer Lee, a female midwife, who worked in a hospital in the fifties of the last century. The main character of stories and television adaptation arrived in London in the middle of the century to find work and shelter. She manages to settle in a small monastery of Nonnatus, where, together with other nuns, the woman began to heal people and provide help. Residents of East End needed the support of orderlies, so the work of the main character was enough. Most often, we had to take birth in women, so Jennifer more than once witnessed truly dramatic events in the lives of many people
