The new task of John Major and his partner Roy Carver ends in tragedy. Performing a duty, John dies of a bullet. But the authorities are not ready to lose a valuable tracker and Major’s body is sent to a secret laboratory, where scientists manage to digitally transfer the consciousness of the deceased back to the body. The “resurrected” detective horrifies colleagues, and only Carver knows that his former mentor has forgotten most of his skills and is useless. Is the experiment considered successful or is Major destined to die?
