Japan is both mesmerizing and thought-provoking, its people are extremely hospitable only if you follow their rules of life. During his work on the Top Gear show, James May has come to this enchanting country more than once, but still has not been able to finally understand it. And finally, he decided to fix it. For a British citizen, Japan is one of the most distant countries on the planet. Unsurprisingly, everything about this country seems strange and perhaps even intimidating to the average Briton and even to James May. That is why he decided to start his long journey not from a busy city, and not at the foot of one of the volcanoes. Instead, he went to Japan’s northernmost island, Hokkaido.
