In the fourth season Don Draper struggles to solve family problems. Relationship with his ex-wife Betty – first stable and relatively friendly – are becoming strained. Betty wants to limit contact Don with children, which leads to conflict, which he wanted to avoid. The eldest daughter, Sally most of all going through a parents’ divorce. She misses her father, and she writes regularly to him. Don professional life has also changed. The idea to establish his own company visited him for a long time. After lengthy negotiations, the advertising agency “Sterling Cooper” was sold to new owners – a major British company. This greatly affected the customer base – now the agency will have to work more closely with European companies. Before the deal about the transition of the agency “Sterling Cooper” the new owners will come into force, Roger, Don, Bert and Lane to develop the concept of forming a new agency. White separatists called the League Of American Nationalists (LOAN) arrive in Charming. LOAN’s leader and backer businessman Ethan Zobelle and Zobelle’s enforcer, A.J. Weston, seek to drive the Sons of Anarchy from Charming. Soon, the Sons learn that Zobelle’s true intentions are not racially motivated; rather, he wants to do work the prison heroin trade with the Mayans. The MC is able to cause a split in LOAN by giving this information to Weston, a deeply committed racist who will not tolerate doing business with Hispanics. (more…)
